I love the miss matched ness!
Again using DK and the p/hop pattern I increased the number of stitches to 48 with 4mm needles.
They are a little loose but given the high wool content mayhaps shrink in my unpredicatable washing machine.
These are my fave socks so far!!!

Here is my version of a famous French fashion house staple.
The original uses three sizes of pearls quite similar in size. Because I dont have linking monograms between the pearl strands I have gone for a smaller small pearl to give the necklace the texture and interest it needs. These pearls were from a shop in Sham Sha Po. They are the low quality but I think worked like this the perfect spheres of top quality pearls would be wasted. Going out tonight in my pearls xxx Easy breezy cotton dress.
This is an adaptation of the previous dress pattern I used. I changed the neckline. More modest for Hong Kong. Looser fit so you dont feel sticky. Ok first sock using double knit wool. I love the speed that these socks were knitted up. Rowan always has delicious wools but they are abit pricier than cheap acrylics so socks are an afordable use. This pattern is p/hop socks http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/p-hop-socks-quick-and-easy-ribbed-dk-socks Dispite making tension squares and playing with needles they are still a little on the small size. Next time I shall be altering some details and will blog you my instructions. I have a wide fit foot and so bare that in mind. These are Rowan Summerspun. Its a cotton wool blend and 2 stranded. Now it was super smooth and held together well so relaxing to knit with. I am I confess becoming a sock addict
After a trip shopping when there wasnt a skirt to fit... (Moderate hips, small waist) .... I gave up and made my own.
Sometimes it can be abit of faff drawing up your own patterns. But the results can be totally worth it. Cotton of course perfect in the heat. New image editor is Snapeee from the play store. Here's my line of thought to get to this finished card. Pretty pose I like these colours.... This sketch is too twee. I only like the flowers. Colour play...
Them boom all together to finish!! After a packed day of socialising and shopping haveing a sit down with this cute knitting quarterly is bliss for my feet.
And also left me with 3 new projects on the todo list! This is a home sew copied from a purchased t shirt and altered slightly. The original was abit tight and the neck didnt flatter enough so had to change them abit. Also thd sleeves were altered because I just love cap sleeves. The challenge was the neckline argh. Next time I will get a pattern.
The fabric was from the market in Sham Sha Po. I just love the flying ducks so retro. |
